Okay, I just recently as in yesterday thanks to social media of course. Bought a new lip combo and it did not disappoint. My lips but better, literally the thought that came to mind when I tried this routine out. My lips already have a “lip liner” effect to them, but they can also give off a little flat just like faded feel to them if I don’t have a gloss or lipstick on.
I’m always on the hunt for a good lipliner because 9/10 times I just touch up my lips with a lipliner, smudge them for a more natural look, add some aquaphor and I’m set.
The Lip Combo I just purchased is Rhodes lip liner in the shade lounge, and Saie lip liner in the shade tease.
It’s literally my first lip liners from both brands. They each are different and honestly each liner could be used alone but together they smudge beautifully into this perfect for my lips combo.
The Saie lip liner is more like your traditional pencil liner except it’s not drying like your traditional ones. The shade tease is like this plum brown shade but it’s not as intense as it sounds.
Rhodes lip liner is more like that eyeshadow stick look, it’s not your traditional lipliner pencil, it’s thicker. The shade lounge is a rosy beige which makes sense why I love it, that shade is the “it” shade for my skin tone. Yup, I bought these products without even researching the shades until now. I’ve dabbled in makeup so much that now I can just tell if a product works with my tone or not.
What I did for today’s lip combo was first I lined my lips using Saie, I followed my natural lip liner shape thinner on the cupids bow slightly rounded then thicker on the bottom lip on the sides and thinner in the middle. Then slightly smudged it to prevent so harsh of a line. Then I used Rhodes and over lined and repeat the same process except I smudged it out more to kinda fill in my lips.
Then you just top it off with a balm and you’re done.
*I used a balm but still on the fence if I officially love it or if it’s more of a hype balm that is like ehhh my aquaphor does the same thing type of balm..
